Raise the Next Generation
Young people are our next generation of gospel workers and the future of our church
Jesus commands us to welcome children and scripture calls us to pass on the faith to the next generation.
But did you know the majority of parishes in our diocese have no ministries specifically for youth and more than a quarter have no ministries specifically for children. If this continues, the future of our Diocese is at risk.
We want to see ministries to young people through and in partnership with parishes
This is not something that can be left up to schools
It's great that kids get to hear the gospel at an Anglican school. But the school context can't replace Christian fellowship of the parish.
Young people need a community of believers of all ages to help them grow in their faith.
They need opportunities to contribute to the gathering of believers and to discern their gifts for ministry.
And they need the fellowship of other young belivers who know what it's like to follow Jesus as a young person today.
